The first Jackie Chan

"I never wanted to be the next Bruce Lee. I just wanted to be the first Jackie Chan."

So universal...
Hah. If anything came out about Jackie I'd die.
I'd literally lose all faith in people.
He upholds ALL my values.

Good then, good now.

The Blue Umbrella

Go see Monster's University
and you will see this short animation.
Don't watch it online. See it at the pictures.

It will have you.

Collaboration

"Collaboration is the act of joining together to make possible that which cannot be accomplished alone.Whether you are collaborating in the workplace, in school or as part of a creative project, collaboration can both help and hurt a project, depending on how it's done..."

[It frightens me sometimes when I realise I don't understand basic things as well as I think I do.]

July 20 photos

Photos from the last week or so.

My friend Ross took this from his room in Vietnam while I was talking to him. He's there teaching kids to swim.

Clean up crew after the twelfth in Shaftesbury Sq. Belfast.

My mother, age 15 at Smithfield Park, in my hometown, 1983. Found this at my Grans today.

My boss made this (thon company name) in a toy shop in Amsterdam last week.

The 'Terracotta' soldiers come to Belfast city hall yesterday, ready for the wee ones to paint!

Ulster Wildlife Film

The Film we made for Ulster Wildlife.
If you have a spare 20 minutes to learn about Northern Ireland's sea life.

The animations I done are at 4:20, 8:02 and 11:08.
I did the map bits and the tracking labels on the animals
(and charlie).

That presenter is Graham Little,
him and my maps of Northern Ireland are intrinsically linked.

This is playing at the Titanic Centre now in Belfast.

cruse video

One of the videos my 'colleague' Robbie made about
 the Cruse bereavement residential.

The password is cruse123

This is more for me than anything else,
it makes me happy.

Wray talent motherfuckerrrr

by Róisín Wray

This is an 'unfinished' (but I have to post it)
GCSE art final piece,
from St.Patricks High School, same town I'm from.

So I know her through my friends
and I knew she painted but I never seen her work
until recently and fuck me, her oil painting blew me away.

Probably the one of the best painters I've seen here definitely,
and even more so that she's just eighteen which is crazy.
You can tell she's passionate about it too,
which is rarer even more so. Alright.

Good painting.

First real print job!

Ulster wildlife Booklet I (we) did, came in today.
2000 copies. A day before the launch.

Looks great. David Attenborough is a little pixelated and also at one point me, Christine and Tim nearly ripped each others throats out, but it's finished now. Go team!

I'll take a better photo tomorrow.
Which I am excited for like. The launch for the new brand is
happening tomorrow night at the Titanic Centre, Belfast
and were having dinner there and they are going to show the film our
company made on the cinema screen along with the animation I created.
I have no delusions this time, I am very lucky.

And all of us from work are going to go and get wasted!

Prior Sleep

"This is about that moment when you're in bed, just prior sleep,
and suddenly you begin to think about how vast and ridiculously big the universe is.

You probably then end up dreaming about having a brew and going to your mams."

From my (internet) friend in Manchester.

Seen this years ago and
it always had an lasting impression on me.
You know those pieces?

Why is it called that, don't ask me. It should be called 'stupid talk' or something like 'the collection of bad grammer.'

Torn Portals

Torn portals in Photographs

Hey first oil painting

I look at oils all the time, but never really thought about them until I studied The Last Duchess and read the Picture of Dorian Gray even and then I got really fascinated with them.

Its completely different from acrylics and what have you, mainly because they're so expensive. It actually took me months to afford all the colours one at a time seriously.

But no really it's that they are really slow. It takes literally days for a layer to dry. Its good though, the theory is the same as digital painting but oils are just better in every way apart from those things, they're fun to use. Anyone will tell you that.

It's even worse in person.

The Definition of Desperation

The fear of having nothing
that makes you appreciate everything
that you have or don't have.

Simmer down.
